Lakes define the landscape of Boulder Junction. Spread out across the forests of Boulder Junction, you’ll find 194 beautiful lakes, perfect for swimming and boating.
The unique nature of the geology and ecology of the Boulder Junction area supports some of the cleanest lakes in the Midwest. Many of Boulder Junction’s crystal-clear lakes are completely undeveloped. Boat launches are plentiful and a number of lakes feature sandy beaches.
Here are some great choices to get you started:
Allequash Lake: Located just south of Boulder Junction, this 400+ acre lake has a public boat landing and all the major fish.
Boulder Lake: Located just north of downtown, this 500+ acres perfect for fishing, boating, or paddling.
Fishtrap Lake: Located north-east of downtown, this 300+ acre lake connects you to High Lake and the Manitowish river.
