Escanaba Trails-Trails are groomed for classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, March 06, 2018 at 1:00 PM Comments: Cut and tracked all loops. Escanaba Trail is in good condition. Cold weather and low use will keep tracks in good shape. There was a measured 22 inches of snow on an undisturbed picnic table near the Research Station. Unless we have a shift in task priority, or the tracks are still in good shape, we expect to touch up again on Friday. This time of year we may have to recondition and mix the snow before tracking which takes additional time. If reconditioning our goal would be to have the yellow and green loop tracked by 11:00 Am Friday and the entire trail by 1:00PM.
McNaughton Trails- Trails are groomed for skate and classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 8:00 AM Comments: All trails tracked/groomed this morning. The trails have a decent base yet but some areas feel like solid ice. There are some spots on the classic loops that have shallow tracks but for the most part the tracks turned out fairly well. The skaters loop is in real good condition minus the one area near the lake where large drifts accumulated in previous weeks. Considering the time of the year, the trails are in good condition.
Madeline Trails- Trails are groomed for classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM Comments: All loops cut twice and tracked.
