Gooch’s A-1 Bar & Grill Rebuild Benefit
February 22 @ 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm$10.00
The community of Boulder Junction is hosting a benefit to help fund the completion of the rebuild of Gooch’s A-1 Bar and Grill on Saturday, February 22.
In August of 2019, an unfortunate accident caused the historic landmark to catch fire. Despite the efforts of emergency responders throughout Vilas and Oneida County, the building ended up a total loss. Construction has begun on the new Gooch’s A-1 Bar and Grill located at 6215 County Highway M in Boulder Junction and plans are to reopen this spring. The process has been slow and although the business was insured, costs to keep the project going along with lawyer fees are above Kevin and Laurel Gutjahr’s means.
Friends of Gooch and Laurel, along with community organizations, are pulling together to help raise funds to keep the rebuild going. The general public is invited and encouraged to attend the “Get’cha Gooch On Benefit” on Saturday, February 22 at the Boulder Junction Community Center. Doors open at 5pm at which time raffle ticket sales will begin. Dinner (brats and hamburgers) will be served from 5pm to 7:30pm and live music with Refuse to Rust will be from 7:30pm to 10pm. Raffle drawings will take place starting at 8:30pm. Entrance fee is $10.00 per person and includes dinner.
There are two ways to donate for those not able to attend the benefit. Online donations can be made at www.gofundme.com/f/gooch039s-a1-benefit or mail a check payable to: Gooch’s A-1 Benefit, PO Box 272, Boulder Junction, WI 54512.
