Les Miserables at LUHS

The celebrated musical based on Victor Hugo’s famous novel, Les Miserables, comes to life in the Lakeland Union High School auditorium February 28 – March 4. Come and enjoy this musical that details the trials of the lower class in the harsh world of early 19th century France. Its music and epic tale bring an uplifting message of hope and an example of the unbeatable human spirit.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors. Tickets can be bought at the box office prior to the performances or in advance at showtix4u.com.
LUHS will be performing the Les Miserable: School Edition. This edition has been abridged to approximately 2 hours while maintaining the integrity of the original musical. It is filled with the melodies that are already standards like: Look Down, I Dreamed A Dream, At the End of the Day, Master of the House, Drink With Me and Empty Chairs at Tables. This edition is ideal for a cast of outstanding singers that Lakeland is proud to have. This is the largest cast of students LUHS drama productions has had in many years. There is a cast of over 50 students and a stage/tech crew of over 20 students. Included in the cast are not only local high school students but also some local middle school students.
Seniors will be honored after the last performance. Senior with main character roles are: Josh Kakuschke as Jean Valjean , Molly Larson as Fantine and Reilly Coon as Eponine. Other seniors performers are: Rhiannon Baasch, Taryn Toijala, and Elsa Reimer. All of the stage and technical crews are lead by seniors: Clair Kaminski, stage manager; Justin Kempinger, lights; Shantel Pierce and Nicole Harris, sound.
Les Miserable: School Edition is being directed by Vicki Fleming with music directed by Tami Sellner, c technical direction by Mike Effinger and pit direction by Bill Richter.
