Boulder Junction Public Library “Art in the Library” February Exhibit – Photography of Eric A. Johnson
February 9 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Boulder Junction Public Library welcomes the public to view their next “Art in the Library” exhibit. The Library selected Eric A. Johnson for the February exhibit. His photography will be on display in the Reading Room, above the photocopier and in the Children’s Area during regular library hours.
Johnson’s current photography exhibition at the Library, his third to date, features a representative selection of photographs culled from the more than 2,400 photos he shot while chaperoning the Lakeland Union High School Model United Nations conference trip to the San Francisco Bay Area in March 2018. His previous photographic exhibitions at the library featured photos from previous Model United Nations chaperoning excursions to New York City in April 2012 and Washington, D.C./Williamsburg, Virginia in November 2017.
Photos selected for the current exhibition include a variety of scenes from the City of San Francisco including Chinatown, the city’s famed cable cars, San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge; Alcatraz Island; the scenic Pacific coastline along U.S. Hwy. 1 and at oceanside Santa Cruz; and the natural wonders of the giant old-growth redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument in Marin County, California.
Boulder Junction resident Eric A. Johnson is an award-winning professional news photographer and a veteran 30-year journalist, most recently as the eight-year editor-publisher of FYI Northwoods News. His photography awards include those bestowed by the National Newspaper Association (NNA) and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association (WNA). He has been an avid photographer since childhood, with a particular hobby interest in architectural, nature, and vintage neon photography.
