Lakeland Area Kiwanis Club’s Island Art Walk
July 13 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, Rhinelander, Eagle River, Tomahawk, Minocqua, Arbor Vitae and Woodruff, WI: The Lakeland Kiwanis Club announced that the Island Art Walk event will again be held at Torpy Park in Minocqua this summer on Saturday, July 13th, 2019, from 9am-3pm.
Island Art Walk is still accepting exhibitors for this year’s show! The event will be held on the park’s lower level this year due to the construction of the Lion’s Pavilion on the upper level. The Island Art Walk is open to both amateur and professional artists whose work is original in concept and design, plus the artist exhibiting must complete all their own work.
Past exhibitors have been local artists as well as artists from as far away as Florida and all surrounding Midwestern States. New exhibitors are always welcome. The art work includes fine original crafts which are very diverse including paintings, drawings, stained glass, sculpture, jewelry, decorative painting, carving, basketry, textiles, wood working, pottery and much more!
Secure your space now as the show is filling up fast! The registration is $75 which is effective June 1-July 5th to secure your 11’ X 11’! Double spaces are also available. The show is expected to be larger than last year’s show with the anticipation an estimated 50 – 70 artists, so book your spot now.
Live music of Gregg Thomas, a well-known local musician, will again fill the air making a fun and festive event. The Kiwanis Club will be holding their annual brat cookout for visitors for a small donation, which supports their mission to help children in our local community and Northwoods.
The Lakeland Area Kiwanis Club is grateful for the support of the “Island Art Walk” event sponsors: Parkside Gallery, a local art gallery on Front St.; Eye Care Eye Wear Associates, Drs. Redman, Redman and Gelinas on Hwy 51 and the Campanile Center for the Arts as supporting sponsors of this summer’s event. Parkside Gallery (owner Bob Metropulos) will again be a “visitor stop” for the public to view Bob’s fascinating collection of art before continuing on the path to the Campanile Center for the Arts.
