Boulder Junction Public Library “A Universe of Stories” Weekly Children’s Summer Reading Program

An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Wednesday, repeating until August 7, 2019
Readers of all ages will explore space and astronomy this summer as the Boulder Junction Public Library presents “Universe of Stories” during their children’s summer reading program. Activities may include story time, group games, crafts, art projects, science and engineering experiments, performers and more.
The 2019 Summer Reading Program starts Wednesday, June 19 and meets every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 am through August 7.
Here is a schedule of weekly programs and events:
JUNE 19th – A Universe of Stories! An exciting start to our summer program at the library. A detailed introduction to our theme will also be given at this time.
JUNE 26th – Take me to your Reader. Create your own team costumes and play a variation of Quidditch games.
JULY 3th – Special Presenter- Colossal Fossils presents Mammoth Hunters! Come enjoy a presentation by Sean Sullivan, experimental archeologist and unique storyteller.
JULY 10th – Shoot for the Moon. Design and create space themed paper airplanes and candy constellations.
JULY 17th – Trekking Across the Universe. Explore the technology and science of the universe including the careers and heroes of space.
JULY 24h – Special Presenter – Tracy Chipman, renown storyteller. Come enjoy her program “Under a starry sky”.
JULY 31st – Special Presenter – Licia Johnson from the Discovery Center! We will investigate a universe of local animals.
AUGUST 7th – Celebrate! Don’t miss this celebration of reading accomplishment! End of the year prizes will be drawn, and everyone will go home with a book to keep.
The Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through 8th grade. Families are encouraged to participate in the program together. Children 7 and under do need a parent or guardian present for the program.
You need not attend the weekly programs to be eligible for grand prizes; however, you must read to be eligible for grand prize drawings. Pick up reading logs at the library.
