August 6 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
75th Anniversary of the Wisconsin DNR Northern Highland Fishery Research Area Open House at the Escanaba Lake Check Station (9588 Nebish Lake Road, Plum Lake 54560). The public is encouraged to attend and learn about the 75-year history of this fisheries research project and view fisheries research demonstrations (including electrofishing, fish netting, deep water fish sampling, fish tracking and water quality assessment). The public can also join an interpretive bog lake tour of Mystery and Spruce lakes or take an interpretive hike as a group around part of Escanaba and Pallette lakes (~3 miles round trip). Water and soft drinks will be provided free of charge. Contact: Greg Sass (715-891-1875, [email protected]) for questions and additional details.
