Annual 6-County Northwoods Lakes and Rivers Meeting
July 15 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
Highlights include: Wakeboats, AIS and Lake Capacity topics
Attendees from six northern Wisconsin counties will convene for a discussion of the environmental impacts of wakeboats, and other issues related to lake recreational capacity. Meanwhile, concern is rising about the short-term rentals of lakefront homes and cabins and how they affect lake water quality, lake crowding, and the integrity of lakefront neighborhoods.
Other topics will include aquatic invasive species prevention, lake access and viewing corridors, and an update on state legislation and policy related to water resources. Be sure to check the attached event agenda for more information on speakers and subjects.
The event is planned be held in-person after two years of virtual presentation due to the Covid pandemic. There will be ample time for comments and questions and answers for the speakers. The Vilas, Oneida and Forest County lakes associations plan to hold meetings directly after the Six-County Meeting.
