Award-winning Author, Jeff Nania
July 31 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Boulder Junction Public Library presents award-winning author, Jeff Nania, author of the Northern Lakes Mystery Series on Monday, July 31 at 7 pm at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street.
Figure Eight is the first book in Nania’s Northern Lakes Mystery Series. As former police officer John Cabrelli struggles in the wake of a career-ending event, he retreats to his late uncle’s lakeside cabin in Wisconsin… but it’s far from the peaceful refuge he expects. Danger awaits — along with the truth behind his uncle’s death. Spider Lake is the second book in the series. Former police officer John Cabrelli is recuperating at Spider Lake when a string of mysterious events in a nearby town draws him into a case involving a missing federal agent and a secluded cabin. Book three in the series is Bough Cutter. Just as Namekagon County sheriff John Cabrelli adjusts to his new job, a body is discovered in the woods — and he must race against time to unravel the case when the lives of even more victims are claimed within the wilderness. And book four in the series is Musky Run. Olympic medalist Anna MacDonald comes home to Namekagon County to emcee the Great Wilderness Race as predators stalk the Northwoods. Sheriff John Cabrelli and the new Musky Falls chief of police work swiftly to keep the community calm as they try to piece together the clues before it is too late.
Jeff Nania is a former law enforcement officer, conservationist, biofuel creator, and an award-winning author. The books in his Northern Lakes Mystery series—Figure Eight (2019), Spider Lake (2020), and Bough Cutter (2021)—have been recognized by the Midwest Book Awards, Independent Publisher Book Awards, and Next Generation Indie Book Awards. His narrative non-fiction writing has appeared in Wisconsin Outdoor News, Double Gun Journal, The Outlook, and other publications.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Jeff’s family settled in Madison’s storied Greenbush neighborhood. His father often loaded Jeff, his brothers, and a couple of dogs into an old jeep station wagon for outdoor adventures. These foundational experiences fostered a sense of community, a passion for outdoor traditions, and a love of our natural resources.
Serving in many law enforcement roles, Jeff was a decorated officer and member of the first canine unit patrolling with his dog, Rosi. Things changed and Jeff found himself knee-deep in wetland restoration. He received the National Wetlands Award and Outdoor Life Magazine named Jeff one of the nation’s 25 most influential conservationists for his habitat work. The Wisconsin Senate commended Jeff with a Joint Resolution for his work with wetlands, education, and as a non-partisan advisor on environmental issues.
Now a full-time novelist, Jeff spends as much time as possible fishing Spider Lake and exploring Wisconsin’s landscape with his friends and family. Find more of Jeff’s writing online at feetwetwriting.com and follow him on social media.
The program is free and open to the public and will be followed by a book signing with the author. Refreshments will be served. For questions and further information, please call the library at 715-385-2050 or email [email protected].
