Explore the New Family History Library Website
April 5 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
This month’s program is “Explore the New Family History Library Website” with presenter, Maureen Brady speaking virtually via Zoom. The new Family History Library website has unique resources that offer access to genealogical records found in the catalog. Many of these have been digitized and can be viewed from your home. Among other new services, patrons worldwide can schedule 20-minutes appointments for free personal online research consultations with family history experts. In addition, visitors to the website can request free lookups by knowledgeable genealogical experts and translators if needed. This presentation will take the attendee through the process of using this valuable new genealogical tool to further their research.
Maureen Brady, a former school librarian and computer educator, has more than thirty years’ experience with family history research and is a professional genealogist and owner of Bare Roots Genealogical Services. She has made numerous presentations to Illinois and Wisconsin genealogical societies, libraries, conferences, and workshops, as well as presenting at the 2002 National Genealogical Society Conference. Maureen is co-director of the Crystal Lake (Illinois) Family History Center and is a member of many genealogical and family history societies in the U.S. and Scotland.
This program is free and open to the public. All persons interested in genealogy and family history, from beginner to advanced, are welcome to attend.
