DESCRIPTION:The Boulder Junction Public Library joins this year national theme of “Unearth a Story” for summer 2026! Dig into the past this year with dinosaurs\, paleontology\, and archaeology!  \nThe Summer Library Program starts Monday\, June 15 and meets weekly at 10:30am through August 6. The program is held either outside in the covered Lions Pavilion or in the Community Center – weather and activity depending. \nThe programs are geared towards elementary ages\, however\, ALL are welcome to attend. Children 7 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.  \nAlong with the weekly events\, a reading challenge is also available for all ages. The library is hopeful to meet or beat a community reading goal of 41\,000 minutes or more. Readers can start on June 8 using the ReaderZone app. A link is available on the library website. Paper tracking is also available at the library. Small prize drawings will happen weekly\, while final prizes will be handed out in August. DESCRIPTION:Join in the celebration of Boulder Junction’s parks and recreation on Sunday\, July 5\, 2026 from 10am to 2pm. Festivities will take place at the Boulder Junction Sports Park & Playground behind the Chamber of Commerce building on Park Street and behind the Boulder Junction Community Center building and entrance to the Tall Pines Disc Golf Course. \nThis year\, the Boulder Junction Parks & Recreation Board has a lot to celebrate! In addition to finishing touches on the new playground\, improving the Glide Ice Skating Ribbon\, and completing the new basketball court\, this event marks the official ribbon cutting for the new Tall Pines Disc Golf Course. The recently completed course is a year-round recreational facility located within the grounds of the Boulder Junction Sports Park and Community Center complex. This 18-hole course is now open for play and available free of charge to the public during normal park hours. \nCome play in Boulder Junction on Sunday\, July 5th and help us celebrate all the hard work and fundraising that went into these park improvements. Bring the whole family to play on the playground\, shoot some hoops\, play some baseball\, hit some balls on the tennis court\, show off your moves on the Skate Park\, or go out for a round on the disc golf course. Or take a quick bike ride on the Heart of Vilas County paved bike trail that runs through the park. \nAfter working up a hunger and thirst\, visit the Boulder Junction Lions Club food tent for some burgers\, brats\, hot dogs\, soda\, or beer behind the Boulder Junction Community Center building. They’ll be selling food and drinks from 10am to 2pm or while supplies last. \nTo finish off the day\, head over to Nichols Lake Park where there is swimming\, picnic facilities\, and a volleyball court. SUMMARY:Kids Learn to Mountain Bike Clinics
DESCRIPTION:Open to kids ages 6-11. This class is designed for first time or beginner mountain bikers. \nWe will go over the essentials of mountain biking\, incorporating a few fun games to improve their abilities on the bike. Then we’ll apply those skills on the trails while providing some additional hands on instruction. \nAll riders will receive a snack bag and drink to refuel after their adventure. Participants must bring a bike and helmet\, and we recommend bringing gloves and a water bottle for added comfort. Registration opening in Spring 2026.
