Northern Waters Genealogical Society Meeting “Sticks and Stones: Grave Markers and Clues for the Genealogist” Presented by Tom Jerow and Carol Williams
March 3 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Northern Waters Genealogical Society (NWGS) invites you to their next meeting on Tuesday, March 3 from 3-5 pm at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street.
This month’s program will be ““Sticks and Stones: Grave Markers and Clues for the Genealogist” presented by NWGS members, Tom Jerow and Carol Williams. Headstones are often overlooked tools in family history research. If you already know the date of birth and death from vital records, why visit the cemetery? But headstones sometimes contain surprising information not recorded anywhere else. These details can fill in the gaps in your ancestor’s family history, give you a sense of their personality, and provide further clues for research.
The meetings are free and open to the public. All persons interested in genealogy and family history are welcome to attend. For more information, please call 715-686-7339.
