Northern Waters Genealogical Society Meeting: “Ten Skills Every Genealogist Needs”

The Northern Waters Genealogical Society invites you to their next meeting on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, 6-7 pm, at the Boulder Junction Community Center, 5392 Park Street. A short business meeting will follow the presentation. This will be a hybrid meeting allowing participants to attend in person or by Zoom.
This month’s program is “Ten Skills Every Genealogist Needs” featuring speaker Nancy Loe presenting virtually on Zoom. Topics discussed will be searching the Deep Web, deciphering old handwriting, translating records from other languages, map locations past and present, and mastering genealogy terminology. After a long professional career in academic archives and libraries, Nancy E. Loe, MA, MLS, is now a genealogy educator, researcher, and writer. She specializes in US and European research and provides expert guidance on organizing research and family papers. Nancy’s first professional job was as Head Librarian for Genealogy and Local History at the public library in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she also co-founded the Pikes Peak Genealogical Society in 1980. In addition to family history research for private clients, Nancy also shares her expertise at presentations for the National Genealogical Society, Rootstech, Legacy Family Tree, and genealogy conferences and webinars throughout the United States, and in Australia and Canada.
