Winter Wellness – Nutrition throughout the Life Cycle – VIRTUAL
February 9 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Looking for ways to stick to your New Year’s Resolutions? The Boulder Junction Public Library is offering a series of FREE informational presentations to help patrons learn ways to support their health and wellness this winter -and all year long. For the safety of our staff and patrons, all programs will be held online using Zoom and will be open to everyone.
The library will be hosting a UW-Madison Badger Talk with Dr. Cassie Vanderwall from the UW-Madison Department of Clinical Nutrition on Tuesday, February 9 from 2:30-3:30 pm via the Zoom meeting platform.
Vanderwall will present “Nutrition throughout the Life Cycle.” This presentation will invite participants to describe what health and healthy eating mean to them, compare nutrition needs from birth to older adulthood, think about how to build a healthy meal and snack that promotes energy balance, and identify one S.M.A.R.T. goal to move towards a healthier lifestyle.
Dr. Vanderwall is an advance degreed clinical dietitian with proven experience as both a leader and team member at a top U.S. academic medical center. She is an accomplished healthcare professional, instructor and researcher with a passion for disease prevention, wellness, and empowering individuals for better health.
Badger Talks reflects the tradition of the Wisconsin Idea — to extend the resources of the university to citizens of the state. Over 200 Badger Talks are hosted around the state each year, featuring faculty and staff with expertise in a variety of disciplines. Talk topics range from cutting edge discoveries to happiness in the workplace and everything in between. Professional, community, and civic organizations, as well as schools, are invited to request a UW–Madison speaker.
