Four fun facts about the Forest Frenzy Winter Triathlon

By Alan Hamari

Boulder Junction is proud to host the inaugural Forest Frenzy Winter Triathlon on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Early-bird registration is open through November 30, 2017 for this fun ski/snowshoe/bike triathlon.

Here are a few things to know about this unique event:

  1. It’s the first outdoor winter triathlon in Wisconsin. Racers will complete an 8-kilometer cross-country ski (classic or skate) course, a 6-kilometer snowshoe loop and an 8-kilometer fat tire bike course.
  2. The course is scenic and challenging. Racers will travel on trails tucked in the tall trees of the Northwoods, beginning at Camp Manito-wish YMCA and leading into the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. See course info.
  3. The event is open to participants ages 15 to 70+ and three-person relay teams. All racers who cross the finish line will receive a participation medal.
  4. Participants and spectators can warm up after the race during a soup luncheon from 11am to 3pm at the Camp Manito-wish YMCA Leadership Center.
