Hidden Gem: Lost Canoe

Paddle this hidden gem in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. Portage to Pallette Lake and/or Escanaba Lake. There is a carry-in boat landing with no development on the lake. There are 4 boat-in only campsites on Lost Canoe and 6 boat-in only campsites on Pallette Lake. These sites are non-reservable and are limited to one-night stays. This is Wisconsin DNR managed property and a State Natural Area as of 1973. You will find a variety of fish species in this lake including walleye, muskellunge, panfish, and bass species.
Location: From Downtown Boulder Junction, travel south on Hwy M to Hwy K. East on Hwy K, the carry-in boat landing will be on your righthand side.
