Cross-Country Ski Report

North Lakeland School: Feb. 18, 2020 ~  The North Lakeland School cross-country ski trails were groomed & tracked Feb. 18, and are in great shape.  The snowshoe trails were groomed Feb. 18, and are in great shape.  The trail head & chalet are located on Papoose Lake Road, one mile north of Cty Hwy K.

North Lakeland Discovery Center: Wednesday, February 19,  2020. The cross-country ski trails will be groomed this afternoon.  Conditions will be good.

WinMan Trails: Fat tire bike trails: Trails are currently flat, firm, and riding very well. These condition are expected to continue through Saturday. With snow forecast for Sunday beginning around 9:00 AM riding conditions will change and trails may require closing. Snowshoe trails: Trails were groomed with a drag Thursday morning to remove the crusty surface. Snowshoeing conditions will be very good through the weekend, even with fresh snow on Sunday. Ski trails. With sub-zero temperatures returning Friday night, expect grooming operations to begin at noon on Friday on the outer trails, and on the 2.5K, 6K, and Training Loop by late afternoon, for the weekend. Conditions should be very good on Saturday but subject to change on Sunday if the forecasted snow materializes. Next scheduled grooming would be Monday morning with trails closed until 10:00 AM to allow time to set up. Note: conditions are subject to change with unexpected changes in weather forecasts, these predictions are to help you get a sense of the weekend ahead.

Escanaba Trails: Trails are groomed for classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 2:15 PM. Cut and tracked all loops. 2 plus inches of new snow last night to mix in for some really good track. Firm track and pole plant. Town of Boulder Junction doing a great job of keeping Nebish road as wide as possible but stay to right on corners and hill crests.

Madeline Trails: Trails are groomed for classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 12:15 PM. About 1.5 inches of new snow. Cut and tracked all loops. Full track set. Very Good conditions.

McNaughton Trails: Trails are groomed for skate and classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 12:00 PM. All loops groomed and classic track re-set. Approximately 2″ new snow was just enough to mix in and create mostly fully formed track with no debris – Some stretches may have patchy track

Raven Trails: Trails are groomed for classic cross-country skiing and were tracked on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 10:30 AM. About 1.5 inches of new snow. Cut and tracked all loops. Full track set. Very Good conditions.

Lumberjack Trails: Trails are groomed for snowshoe and bike cross-country skiing and were packed (rolled/compacted) on Wednesday, February 05, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Approximately one inch of fresh snow overnight 2/17. Good conditions.
