whitedeertri-20160521-020-2097x915-kayakers3K Paddle Route on Boulder Lake: (1.86 mi) ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST START AT THEIR APPROPRIATE START TIME in the water in front of the boat landing ramp.

  • There will be announcements at 8:30am prior to the race on the landing area. All participants must be out of the water by that time.
  • If the paddle course changes due to weather conditions, you will be emailed and announcements will be made at this time.
  • Your wave number is called which will be about 20 minutes before your start time.  (Wave decal must be on the right front of your craft.)
  • Paddle on Boulder Lake on the designated course marked with large buoys and course boats to the designated landing at Camp Manito-wish YMCA.
  • Safety boats will monitor the course. The course ends at the designated beach marked with multiple colored flags, which is to the left of Nash Hall.
  • Life jackets must remain on until you have landed your boat. Please carry boat/kayak/SUP with your gear to the boat staging area.
  • Safety personnel will assist in giving directions. Leave your paddle craft, paddle and PFD in the designated area. (craft must be marked with your bib number.)
  • Proceed to your station in the bike transition area. Follow the directions of volunteers and signage to the bike staging area.
  • You will pass through the first timing arch as you enter the bike/run transition area which will begin the biking portion of the event.
  • If you cannot complete any leg of the triathlon and withdraw, please let the Race Director know that you are safely off the course.

22K Bike Route: (13.67 mi) OBSERVE ALL TRAFFIC LAWS AND BE COURTEOUS TO ALL OTHER BIKERS All roads are paved and safety personnel will be present for assistance at all major intersections and turns. Your safety is our concern.

  • The bike route starts at the staging area (behind Boyce Hall) where you will walk your bike to the beginning of the west entrance of Camp Manito-wish YMCA paved driveway.  Mount your bike and ride out this west entrance
  • Turn left onto Hwy K. Stay in the right lane following the route to Ada Street
  • Turn right on Ada Street and proceed down Ada Street to the end of the street and turn left onto Center St.
  • Ride down Center Street to the corner of Center Street and Hwy M and turn right onto Hwy M.
  • Ride south on Hwy M to the to North Creek Rd.
  • Turn right onto North Creek Rd. and follow the signs until you get to Hwy H.
  • Turn right onto Hwy H and continue to the intersection of Hwy H & K.
  • Turn right on Hwy K and travel one mile and turn left on to the West entrance of Camp Manito-wish YMCA. Follow the road back to the Bike Transition area
  • Dismount where the pavement ends and walk it to your bike station.
  • Place your bike back on the bike rack to begin your Run.
  • Your bike segment ends and your running time begins, when you pass back through the timing arch to run.
  • If you cannot complete any leg of the triathlon and withdraw, please let the Race Director know that you are safely off the course.

6K Run Route: (3.7 mi.) OBSERVE ALL TRAFFIC LAWS AND BEWARE OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND OTHER RUNNERS At all major intersections and turns, safety personnel will be present for assistance.

  • You will go back out through the same timing arch as you did before, to begin your run (which ends the bike leg.)
  • Runners will take the gravel road to that goes out the East entrance to Hwy K and turn left onto Hwy K keeping to the right side of the road.
  • Follow this right lane.  Stay in the right lane following the route to Ada Street turning right on Ada Street and proceed down Ada Street to the end of the street and turn left onto Center St.
  • Run down Center Street to the corner of Center Street and Hwy M then cross Hwy M and proceed onto Green Street to Church Street and turn left.
  • Follow Church St. until the end of that street and then turn right onto Old Hwy K. Stay on Old Hwy K and turn right into Winter Park  and run past the water station then turning right from the parking lot area onto the forest trail.
  • Follow the trail signage to the finish line at the Boulder Junction Community Center.
  • There will be several water stations on this route besides the one at the Camp Manito-wish transition area:
    • Blaisdell Park on Center St.
    • Winter Park on Old K at the entrance to the forest trail (shown below)
  • If you cannot complete any leg of the triathlon and withdraw, please let the Race Director know that you are safely off the course.
