Review: Trout Lake Golf Course is Par-fect
August 19, 2019
Trout Lake Golf Course is about 90 years old. This course displays its age surprisingly well. The fairways are like hitting off of fine carpeting. You feel bad when you create a divot. We found the greens very fast and the greens roll true with crisp cups. The course is in great shape. It also has the finest practice facility anywhere in northern Wisconsin. There is a snack shack at the mid point serving great hotdogs with newly remodeled bathrooms.
Trout Lake offers a truly scenic experience with towering White Pine and Oak trees. There is a unique tree growth where a Pine & Oak share root structure between #6 & #7. Wildlife is in abundance. Nature at it’s finest. Golfers often see Deer, Turtles basking in the sun, Canadian Geese teaching their chicks, and huge Redhorse Suckers navigating the river on Hole #1.
Playing Trout Lake you will experience the “Devil’s Elbow”. The elbow is a golfer’s challenge to be experienced. Playing Trout Lake with a full course we finished our round in 3.5 hours. A very pleasant golfing experience. And last but not least, the screened-in porch offers you a chance to relax with a cold one, grab a sandwich after your round and watch other players navigate the 18th hole.
