Cross-Country Trail Spotlight: Lumberjack Trails

January 28, 2022

This multi-use trail runs through tall pine forests and expansive wetlands. Bald eagles are often seen soaring over the Manitowish River and White Sand Creek. The Lumberjack Trail also connects with the Escanaba-Pallette Lake hiking trail which offers more cross-country trail mileage to explore.

Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking all share the trails. The blue and green trails are packed/groomed weekly (at minimum, depending on snowfall).

Leashed pets are allowed year-round.

Length: Various loop trails ranging from approximately 1 mile to 6 miles. A total of 12.5 miles of trails.

Location: From Boulder Junction, continue east on Old Hwy K approximately 1 mile to Concora Road where you will find the parking area. Access is also available at the trailhead off Hwy K, by following Hwy M south about 2 miles to Hwy K and turning east.
