Boulder Junction’s retailers have everything you need to launch your summer outdoor adventure. Whether you’re looking for hiking gear, fishing gear, a bike rental, bait or perhaps, a little advice, these shops have you covered. Pay them a visit before you head into the woods or out on the water.

Northern Highland Sports, 10369 Main St. Boulder Junction. Here, you’ll find everything a sportsperson needs. The shop has fishing equipment, a live bait room, lake maps and hunting supplies. Coontail – Play in Style, 5466 Park St., Boulder Junction. This sporting goods store was founded in 1991 by the Coon Family. It offers high-quality clothing and footwear and great customer service. Coontail sells kayaks and paddleboards – it’s the largest Hobie dealer in northern Wisconsin and the U.P. It also rents bikes, snowshoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Coontail Market, 5462 Park St., Boulder Junction. Adjacent to its aforementioned sister store, the newest grocer to Northern Wisconsin has fuel for everyone and everything: grub for you, gas for your car, chow for Fido, and live bait for your next big catch. Before you head to the cabin, browse their shelves for produce and beverages. There’s even coffee, a bakery, and a deli! The store is open daily in the summer from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Learn more.
