Discovery Center– Snowshoe Expedition: Historic Pause Portage and Ice Road with Jim Bokern

Join local historian, Jim Bokern (Manitowish Waters Historical Society), and a Discovery Center naturalist for a hike on the 6-Pause Portage Trail and logging era ice road. Learn about the people who created and used this historically significant trail, linking the Manitowish River and Mercer Lake, through beautiful forests and wetlands. The hike is about 2 miles in length and the trail is moderately strenuous, with brush and uneven ground, and may be difficult for folks with balance issues.
When: February 17, 2024 10am-1pm
Where: Registrants will be emailed information on the trailhead location
Admission: $24/member with or without snowshoes, $30/non-member, $35/non-member plus snowshoes
