Hunter Safety Course at the Boulder Junction Shooting Range

For individuals interested in obtaining a Hunter Safety Certificate, there will be two
opportunities at the Boulder Junction Shooting Range.

The first opportunity is the traditional Hunter Safety Course. This course will be offered in four
sessions. The sessions will be held on Sunday, June 22, Wednesday June 25 and Friday June 27
from 5:00-8:00 and on Saturday, June 28 from 9-1:00. In this course there is no internet
component and students are expected to attend all four sessions. The four sessions will involve
hand-on activities with firearms, as well as a discussion of important safety issues. The Saturday
session will include the written exam and Field Test.

The second opportunity involves the students taking an internet course, and then attending the
Internet Field Day which will be held on Saturday, August 2. The Saturday meeting will be from
9:00 until 3:00, and will consist of hands on activities with firearms as well as a review of the
material from the Internet course. That will be followed by a written exam and a field test.

Interested students can signup for either course on the DNR Go Wild site. They will need their
DNR Customer Number. If they don’t have one, they can obtain one by contacting the DNR at 1-
886-936-7463. Pre-registration is required. Both classes require a $10.00 fee that should be
paid by cash or check on the first meeting of the class.
