Soy Wax Batik and Dyeing Workshop at NLDC

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of batik. Soy wax will be used to batik a pattern onto fabric or cloth napkins. Once the wax has been applied, the fabric will be overdyed with a thickened dye in a contrasting color. Each participant will “Batik” 4 fabric fat quarters or cloth napkins. The instructor will provide all the materials and supplies. When registering, please indicate whether you want cloth napkins or plain fabric. Fabric can be used to make pillows, used in quilts, made into book covers, etc.
