In 1926, this property was owned and operated by Mickey Paquette. Back then, this very place was known as Mickey’s Night Club, making its reputation for food, dancing, and gambling. When gambling was outlawed in Wisconsin, the coin slot machines in the building were sold and replaced with a shuffleboard and pinball machines. When Mickey sold the property, it became known as the Hilltop, still known for good food, and a beautiful river view. It was not until the 70s did it become Headwaters Inn. Today, Headwaters is owned and operated by the Unkefer and Goldsworthy families. We are a family-friendly destination offering supper club classics every day with great options for the whole family. We bought Headwaters in January of 2023 and have restaurants in Door County as well. Growing up in Boulder Junction and working at places around the world, it is completing the full circle to bring all we have learned back to where we were as kids. It also is important to show the kids people used to know are making a positive impact in the community. Boulder Junction sets itself apart by the residents. The people and the beauty of the Northwoods have always had a place in our hearts.
