Cross-Country Trail Spotlight: Escanaba-Palette Lake Trails

Groomed and tracked for classic skiing. This hilly, scenic trail winds around several lakes and through maple forest. There is a shelter and fire ring within the trail system (see map for reference). This intermediate to difficult cross-country ski trail is groomed and tracked by WI DNR on a regular basis. A Wisconsin State Trail Pass is required for skiing.
Length: 2, 4, 5.5 and 8.5 miles loops
Directions: From Boulder Junction, continue south on County Hwy M approximately 7 miles to Nebish Lake Road. Turn east on Nebish Lake Road and continue about 3.5 miles to the parking area on the north side of the road.
