Cross-Country Trail Spotlight: McNaughton Trail

Located in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest, this trail follows old logging roads through mixed hardwood forests and towering Red Pines. Groomed and tracked for classic and skate skiing, this trail is excellent for a beginner. McNaughton is very scenic trail as the trail winds around three different lakes. There is a warming shelter with a fire ring located on the trail.
Trail lengths vary from 1 mile to 4.31 miles.

A Wisconsin State Trail pass is required for skiing, or pay a daily fee at the trailhead.

Note: Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and pets are not allowed on these groomed ski trails.

Location: From Boulder Junction, follow Hwy M south to Hwy 51 south. Upon entering Woodruff, turn left on Hwy 47 and follow 13 miles. Turn right on Kildeer Road. Follow to trailhead.
