Escanaba-Pallette Lake Trails
Leashed dogs are allowed on this trail system that passes alongside five beautiful Northwoods lakes—Pallette Lake, Escanaba Lake, Little Escanaba Lake, Mystery Lake, and Spruce Lake. Trail segments vary in length from 2.5 miles to more than 8 miles. The northern segment of the trail system connects to the Lumberjack Trail.

Lumberjack Trail
Take a walk with your four-legged friend along this scenic trail that follows the Manitowish River, the Fishtrap Flowage, and White Sand Lake east of Boulder Junction. There are two trailheads for the system—one on Concora Road and the other at County Highway K and Nixon Lake Road.

WinMan Trails
This trail system northwest of Boulder Junction is well-known for its outstanding mountain biking options, but it also has more than 6 miles of maintained trails for hiking and trail running. The hiking and running routes follow WinMan’s ski and snowshoe trails and offer beautiful scenery and rolling terrain. Pets are allowed. See the new 2022 hiking and trail running map here.

Boulder Junction Winter Park
If you’re looking for a shorter walking route, head to Boulder Junction Winter Park east of downtown Boulder Junction, where you’ll find a roughly one-mile loop that’s open to dogwalkers (dogs must be on a leash).
