4th of July Fireworks
July 4 @ 10:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Boulder Junction’s Independence Day Celebrations will look a little different this year, but we will still be celebrating the 4th of July in the Musky Capital of the World. With the safety of the community and our beloved visitors at top of mind and following the recommendations of our state and local health officials that large gatherings are not advisable due to the sustained close contact of attendees, we have decided to cancel the 4th of July parade historically taking place along Main Street. However, a small ceremony by the American Legion Post 451 will be held at 12noon at the Veterans Memorial Triangle on Saturday, July 4.
As a way of showing community spirit leading up to and during the 4th of July weekend, Boulder Junction businesses will be participating in a Patriotic Decorating Contest in which the public is encouraged to vote for their favorite display. Images of the participating businesses will be posted on boulderjct.org July 2 through July 5, at which time those near and far can cast their vote. Awards sponsored by Achilles Foot & Ankle Clinic will be presented to the top three businesses on July 6. Show our small businesses your support, by casting your vote.
Boulder Junction’s fireworks, sponsored by the Town of Boulder Junction, will be displayed at 10pm on July 4th at the Boulder Junction Airport. Boulder Junction’s fireworks are easily accessible, and views are unsurpassable both at the Airport and by boat on Boulder Lake. The gates to the airport will open at 8pm and cars will be parked with generous spacing to allow families to enjoy the display while safely socially distancing while staying by their vehicle. A few additional changes are being implemented for safety that all attendees will be expected to follow: Private fireworks and grilling out is not permissible, restrooms will not be available and there will be no play area up front for children – families must stay by their vehicle. The Town of Boulder Junction and community volunteers appreciate everyone’s cooperation and patience. We look forward to spending the holiday evening with you.
