September 14, 2019

It’s peak fall color season in Boulder Junction, and that means it’s a great time to take an auto tour on our tree-lined roadways. But maybe all that driving around is making you hungry. Here are a few places to stop for a bite before, during or after your fall color tour.

Headwaters Restaurant & Tavern: Situated on a hill overlooking the Manitowish River, this rustic historic tavern is the largest restaurant in Boulder Junction. Stop by all year long for great food, great service and the fastest Internet in the Northwoods.

The Guides Inn: The Guides Inn, located in downtown Boulder Junction, has been a historic landmark in the Northwoods since the 1920s. Today, you can enjoy some of the finest dining in the Northwoods. Be sure to try their specialty—the pan-fried walleye.

Boulder Beer Bar: In the mood for pulled pork, smoked brisket or a made-from-scratch pizza? Stop by the Boulder Beer Bar in downtown Boulder Junction, which is open year-round.

Forest Lake Country Store: If you’re looking for a little snack (or a great beer selection), stop by the Forest Lake Country Store on County Road B, which offers casual dining, 150+ craft beers, wines, artisan cheeses and more.
