Boulder Junction’s Musky Jamboree

Musky Jamboree weekend is a 3-day event with different activities happening each day. Below is the schedule of events for 2021.

8:30am-12:00pm: DNR Learn to Fish Musky Workshop at the Community Center. Public is welcome to attend the morning workshop, FREE OF CHARGE. Individuals who have registered in advance and are selected to fish with a mentor will be provided a lunch and spend the afternoon on the water. Little or no musky fishing experience preferred for afternoon fishing. Maximum 12-15 participants will be accepted for afternoon fishing. 1:00pm – 4:00pm: 75th Anniversary of the Wisconsin DNR Northern Highland Fishery Research Area Open House at the Escanaba Lake Check Station (9588 Nebish Lake Road, Plum Lake 54560). The public is encouraged to attend and learn about the 75-year history of this fisheries research project and view fisheries research demonstrations (including electrofishing, fish netting, deep water fish sampling, fish tracking and water quality assessment). The public can also join an interpretive bog lake tour of Mystery and Spruce lakes or take an interpretive hike as a group around part of Escanaba and Pallette lakes (~3 miles round trip). Fisheries research professionals will be on hand to answer fisheries research questions and chat about other Wisconsin DNR fisheries research projects in the Vilas County area. 5pm-8pm: Live Music-Tony Cuchetti outdoors in the Aqualand Beer Garden.

6pm: Brat Fry at McGann’s Pub & Wine Bar across the street from the Street Party.

7pm to 10:30pmStreet Party with live music by Hip Pocket. The block on the east end of Main Street between Coontail and Sauter Builders/the Post office will be blocked off for the event. Lawn chairs are recommended. Beverages will served by American Legion Post 451.

8am: 5K & 10K Musky Fun Run. The day will begin at the Boulder Junction Baseball Park with the 5K & 10K Musky Fun Run as well as a 1K & 100-yard dash kids rash.  DNR restrictions have been lifted, walk in registration now allowed day of race. Check-in and walk in registration from 7am-7:45am and the race begins at 8am. Online registration is now closed.

10am: Musky Dedication next to the Chamber Office/Ballpark on Hwy M. Official dedication and naming of the Musky Capital of the World’s new mascot.

11am-3pmBoulder Junction Historical Society History Day at the Community Center. Free admission from 11am-2:30pm. Food, bake sale, raffles, coloring contest. Historical presentation by Northwoods Wildlife Center “Birds of Prey” at 12noon. Tours of the museum depot available throughout the day.  Kids of all ages welcome. Proceeds benefit Boulder Junction Area Historical Society. Donations appreciated.

3pm-5pm: Live Music – The Musky Brother, Dan Wallender at Peeple’s Park.

7pm-10pm: Live Music – Tony Cuchetti outdoors in the Aqualand Beer Garden.

8am-5pmMain Street/Hwy M South of Town CLOSED to all vehicles, including bikes, motorcycles & skateboards. Shuttle busses will not be running this year, however, wagon rides will be available at designated drop of and pick-up locations. Golf carts will be available. 9am-3pm: 29th Annual Musky Jamboree Car Show, at Highway M North and Main Street. This show is an opportune chance for new and experienced competitors to shine. Car Show awards will be announced at 2:30pm. Car show is full and registration is now closed.

9am-4pmArts & Crafts Show. Over 100 artists fill Main Street and Hwy M South at our Musky Jamboree Arts & Crafts Show including furniture , fine art, jewelry and many other handcrafted items.

Additionally, the Lions Club Flea Market will be held on the Community Center grounds. Local service groups and area restaurants will line the streets with food and beverage concessions.

Be sure to bring the kiddos over to the Kid’s Zone on Highway M South by the Boulder Bear Motor Lodge. Kid’s Zone rides and games will include: Bungee Jump, Shoot & Shower Basketball Game, Goldfish Toss and Train Rides.

10am-2pmKid’s Casting Contest. In The Musky Capital of the World®, fishing takes center stage with a Kids Casting Contest from 10am-2:00pm. All children ages 5 to 14 are encouraged to show off their casting skills and compete for prizes at the West end of Main Street near the Car Show.  Prizes awarded at 2:15pm. Sponsored by Northern Highland Sports & We Energies.

Be sure to stop by the Meet the Guides Booth located next to the Kids Casting Contest area for tips on fishing and to meet some of the local guides.

10am-2pm: Musky Day Fly-In. Held at the Payzer Memorial Field located 2 miles north of Main Street, watch the numerous colorful planes of all varieties take off and land at the airport on Boulder Lake.

11am-2pm: Northern NoMads on the east end of Main Street.

11am: Jeff Eisberner – Rock and Country Vocalist/Keyboard by the Boulder Beer Bar.

1pm-3pm: Steve Matier and the O’Bros at McGann’s Pub & Wine Bar.

2:15pm: Kid’s Casting Contest Awards announced by Car Show at Highway M North and Main Street.

2:30pm: Musky Day Car Show Awards

The Musky Jamboree will end at approximately 4pm on Sunday.

2021 Race Results

Divisions and Awards:

  • 5K Run/Walk: Individuals: Medals will be awarded to the top three males and top three females in each of the following age categories: 12 & under, 13-16, 17-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Award plaques will be presented to the top male and top female overall.
  • 10K Run/Walk: Individuals: Medals will be awarded to the top three males and top three females in each of the following age categories: 12 & under, 13-16, 17-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Award plaques will be presented to the top male and top female overall.
  • Kid’s Races (10 and under): 1K and 100-yard dash. Medals will be awarded to the top 2 finishers in the 1K and 100-yard dash plus a participation prize to each entrant.

Registration Fee:

5K & 10K Rate: $30
1K & 100yd dash Kids Races: Free (no t-shirt)

Printed forms may be dropped off at Chamber Office thru Friday, August 6 at 12noon or walk-in registration is between 7am-7:45am on race day.

Musky Jamboree Arts & Crafts Show – Sunday, August 8, 2021 – 9am-4pm

2021 marks the 64th Annual Musky Jamboree in Boulder Junction, WI.  The Arts and Crafts Fair has and will be the biggest draw of the Musky Jamboree.  We look forward to hosting a spectacular array of original arts and crafts at this year’s event.

Over 100 artists fill Main Street and Hwy M South at our Musky Jamboree Arts & Crafts Show including furniture , fine art, jewelry and many other handcrafted items. Additionally, the Lions Club Flea Market will be held on the Community Center grounds. Local service groups and area restaurants will line the streets with food and beverage concessions.

Arts & Crafts Vendors: 2021 Arts & Crafts Show is now full. Please email or call us to be added to our waiting list for cancellations.

Current Arts & Crafts Show COVID-19 Safety Protocols

  • Booths will be in clusters of 4 with 15’ walkways on Main Street and 20’ walkways on Hwy M.
  • Vendors are required to have sides (if directly next to another vendor) and backs on their tents, so, they are separated from other booths. All booths will be corner booths and open on two sides.
  • Chamber will provide hand sanitizer stations throughout the event for attendees. Hand sanitizer in vendor booths is optional.
  • No vendors may sample food.
  • Any food products must be prepackaged.
  • Vendors should not attend if feeling sick in any way or have been around anyone sick or tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

Location: Highway M North and Main Street (Veteran’s Memorial Triangle by the Boulder Beer Bar)

Parking Begins:  8:00am

Show Times:  10:30am to 3:00pm

Trophy Presentation:  2:30pm

1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners in all classes.
Overall People’s Choice Best of Show Award – voted on by the public
Kid’s Choice Award – voted on by the public
Best of Show Award – voted on by entrants

All award trophies are sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts.

2021 Musky Jamboree Car Show Registration

The Musky Jamboree Car Show is full. Please email or call us to be added to our waiting list for cancellations.

Entry Fee: $15.00 per vehicle. Preregistration only. Mailed registrations must be post marked by Wednesday, July 28. No day of registration will be permitted.
Capacity limited to 100 vehicles. No refunds.
ALL entries include dash plaque, goody bag & entry into door prize drawing
One class per vehicle registration form.

Current Car Show COVID-19 Safety Protocols

  • Cars will be parked with extra spacing to allow attendees to sit by their cars and still social distance if they choose.
  • Preregistration only this year. Entries limited to 100 vehicles.
  • Registrants will be a mailed window tag to show they are registered.
  • Volunteers parking cars will present registrants with the voting ballot, pencil and goodie bag upon entering show. 
  • Chamber will provide hand sanitizer stations throughout the event for attendees.
