Fishing 101: Musky Capital of the World
June 4, 2018
Boulder Junction is a great destination for your first (or next) fishing trip, but there are a few things you should know before you head out on the water. Our Fishing 101 series is here to help!
Why is Boulder Junction the Musky Capital of the World? We have 194 lakes in a 10-mile radius, many of which are Class A musky lakes.
Here are some musky fishing tips from our expert guides:
- The best time for musky fishing is during late spring and early summer after the spawn, or in the fall, when they’re fattening up for the winter.
- In the spring, use spinners or smaller lures.
- In the fall, as muskies are getting ready for winter, they’re looking for bigger baits. This is the time to go after a trophy fish.
- Use a figure 8 method next to the boat to entice the musky.
