
Stay safe on your ATV/UTV adventure in Boulder Junction

If you’re taking your ATV or UTV out in Boulder Junction—that is, riding on County Highways H, M, and K—make sure you stay safe. Here are some rules and regulations to keep in mind when you’re riding in Boulder Junction and throughout the Northwoods:
- No person under 12 may operate an ATV and no person under 16 may operate a UTV
- Riders born after January 1, 1988, are required to complete a safety certification course and carry a safety certificate
- Children 12-15 using the ATV/UTV trails must have a safety certificate and be accompanied by an adult
- Children younger than 18 must wear an ATV/UTV helmet (or motorcycle helmet) and goggles
- ATV users younger than 12 and UTV users younger than 16 may not operate on a public roadway
- All UTV passengers must wear safety restraints
- Stay on the trails—off-trail riding is trespassing
- ATVs/UTVs must always have their headlamps on
